Dental procedures can be painful. Our patients will
benefit from having multimodal pain management and balanced anesthesia during
their dental procedures. This class explores the different sites, drug choices,
doses, and safety for performing dental nerve blocks in dogs and cats by
identifying contraindications, adverse effects, and potential complications. The
attendees will become familiar with the skull anatomy of the dog and cat
including the innervation of the face, jaws, and teeth. The different sites will
be explained as well as the indications for nerve blocks so the appropriate
choice can be made.
