The aims for this 1-hour didactic seminar will focus on
a review of the evidence available as well as the techniques to ‘do-it-yourself’
diagnostics, within the context of working up respiratory disease in cattle.
Selection of appropriate sample collection using nasopharyngeal swabs,
transtracheal washes, and bronchoalveolar lavage methods, as well as performing
endoscopy, radiography, and thoracic ultrasound will be reviewed, using clinical
individual animal and herd cases to facilitate discussion.
This session originally was presented at AVMA Convention 2025 in conjunction
with the 40th World Veterinary Association Congress.
