Utilizing clinical cases and scenarios, this session will provide an overview of the diagnostic approach for dogs and cats with thrombocytopenia and bleeding disorders. An emphasis will be placed on differentiating primary immune-mediated thrombocytopenia from infectious or non-immune causes of thrombocytopenia. Incorporating new information where applicable on our current and ongoing research, this session will cover immunosuppressive therapy, transfusion medicine, and other supportive therapies. This session will include clinical cases and scenarios to help the audience be more comfortable with the diagnostic approach and treatment options for dogs and cats with bleeding disorders.
