This course provides an overview of the companion and laboratory animal chapters of the AVMA Guidelines for the Depopulation of Animals (2026 edition), with an emphasis on humane, evidence-based decision-making during emergency depopulation events. Covered animals include dogs, cats, ferrets, psittacines, rodents, zebrafish and other aquatic research species, and nonhuman primates, across a range of settings.
