This course provides an overview of the free-roaming and captive wildlife and furbearers chapters of the AVMA Guidelines for the Depopulation of Animals (2026 edition), with an emphasis on humane, evidence-based decision-making during emergency depopulation events. Participants will first be introduced to the tiered classification system (Tiers 1-3) used to evaluate method appropriateness, followed by taxa/species-specific guidance.
